VRFocus - Last week FOVE, a head-mounted eye-tracking display, was linked to Microsoft as the tech's creators were accepted into Microsoft Ventures London, which helps tech start-ups. It marked the first Japanese company to be accepted into the programme, and raised questions as to if Microsoft could be looking to utilise the technology for its own virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) to complete with the likes of the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus.

VRFocus - The adventure videogame genre has experienced something of a revival in the past few years. Developers such as Telltale Games and Quantic Dream have carried a torch for the classic genre with releases such as The Walking Dead and Beyond: Two Souls. Each and everyone one of these titles owes a debt to Paul Cuisset, creator such beloved titles as 1989s Future Wars and 1992s Flashback. Now Cuisset is returning to the genre he helped shape with Subject 13, which is currently running a Kickstarter campaign looking for $40,000 USD, with a stretch goal of $60,000 for support for the Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD).

VRFocus - Another new virtual reality (VR) videogame has hit crowd-funding website Kickstarter this weekend. Project Torus, developed by VR and technology enthusiast and Reverend Kyle podcast host Kyle Riesenbeck, is hoping to raise $3,200 USD by 16th August 2014 in order to fund development of the title. If successful then the videogame aims to arrive on a range of VR head-mounted displays (HMD) including the likes of the Oculus Rift and Project Morpheus.

VRFocus - Announced last month, Agincourt Gamings Kingdoms Age has already provided an in-depth look at its massively multiplayer online real-time strategy (MMORTS) gameplay. VRFocus - This August sees Gamescom take place once Cologne, Germany with Oculus Rift virtual reality (VR) head-mounted display (HMD) maker Oculus VR set to show off its device at the show. Hopefully the company will have some new announcements to share, but it will also be appearing at the other event taking place in the area on 11th - 13th August, the 2014 Game Developers Conference (GDC) Europe. Oculus VR is set to host its own VR-focused session as the event, much like Sony Computer Entertainment will.

VRFocus - Indie developer Headtrip Games has provided a small update on its upcoming virtual reality (VR) compatible videogame, iOmoon, this week with the release of two new screenshots taken directly from gameplay. VRFocus - VRFocus has talked about the possibilities of virtual reality (VR) superhero videogames before. While weve discussed the issues of bringing the genre to life with an Oculus Rift or Project Morpheus head-mounted display (HMD) before, the potential for experiences based around characters such as Spider-Man, Batman and Iron Man have also been explored. But it wasnt until this weeks reveal of the X-Men VR experience from 20th Century Fox at the 2014 San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) that Marvels mutants sprang to mind. It doesnt take long to realise that the series is perhaps the best superhero fit for VR.
